Types of Koalas
There are two types of koalas, the brown koala and the gray koala. The gray koala has thick, gray fur due to the warm climate of the Northern part of Australia, the brown koala has long, brown fur because of their cold climate in the Southern parts of Australia. Koalas have very big, flat noises that is also used to tell if a male had marked his territory there or not. Koalas have a very strong sense of smell. The fur colors can differ from male to female. Females tend to have lighter fur than males do. Males have a dark spot on their stomach and when they mark their territory, they spray a scent out from the spot as well as their long legs. Koalas have long legs that they use to run and jump, and swing from trees. When they hang in trees, with or without their joey in the pouch, they will jump from tree branch to tree branch, looking for food to feed themselves and their joeys with.
